Adult BJJ Ages 14+
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that focuses on grappling and ground fighting as a self defense. Jiu-Jitsu has recently become more popular and is noted to be one of the fastest growing MMA sports in the United States. While many sports increase athleticism and keep you in shape, none offer real-world skills like BJJ does. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a combat sport characterized by grappling and ground fighting. It pushes its practitioners to learn a wide variety of new techniques, put their endurance to the test, think on their feet, and build mental toughness.
Thanks to all of these features, BJJ is the ideal sport for self-defense.

Overview
The concept of BJJ is that smaller people who are not as strong can defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent. Through the use of skillful leveraging techniques and effective groundwork, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu martial artists are able to manipulate, subdue, and control their opponent.
Self Defense
BJJ at RM Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu puts you in an atmosphere where you can succeed with any sized opponent, gain self-esteem and confidence in your skills, and learn to never give up and raise your endurance. We will give you the skills you need to feel confident in redirection and assertiveness in any threatening situation. Our members at RM Elite are taught how to assess and de-escalate situations without needing to physically use their skills.
Community
In BJJ you need to have a training partner to practice with, so you spend a lot of time with the other students in your class. Therefore by creating a bond of trust and reciprocation, you and your grappling partner can then practice various techniques on each other and see what works or doesn’t work. This martial art cannot be learned based solely on the use of paddles or punching bags. Members at RM Elite have become close friends and help each other refine their skills and reach their goals.
Gi
If you’ve ever watched a traditional Jiu-Jitsu match, you were probably witnessing Gi Jiu-Jitsu! Gi Jiu-Jitsu is most identifiable by the clothing worn. A Gi, pants, and a belt. But this clothing is about more than looks. It changes the way martial art is practiced! In Gi Jiu-Jitsu you can grab your opponent’s clothes during grappling. Which contributes to a slower pace that leaves you with more time to think through your next move.
No-Gi
When practicing No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, you’ll shed your thick Gi and pants for shorts and a rash guard. Without the lapel and collar of a kimono to grab hold of, No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu is much faster and requires quick thinking. While it’s up for you to decide, many feel that No-Gi BJJ is better when it comes to preparing for real-life altercations.
